12 weeks

Yeah! Baby post time!

How Far Along? 12 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss? Up 9 pounds
Maternity clothes? Loving leggings and tunics.
Stretch marks? None yet
Sleep? My bladder and tummy aren't letting me sleep. I feel icky if I don't eat every 4 hours, so whenever I wake up to pee I also have a snack. I am getting better at 3am quiet snack preparation.
Best moment this week? Seeing the ultrasound- the baby was squirming around and kicking. The heartbeat was also incredible!
Miss Anything? Coffee & Sushi!
Movement? None that I can feel but the baby was squirming like mad on the screen!
Food Cravings? Salty anything. I think I could even just eat spoonfuls of salt and be happy.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Coffee and the smell of cigarettes.
Have you started to show yet? There is definitely a bump there, customers have started to ask me if it's a baby.
Gender? Still thinking its a girl but couldn't tell on the ultrasound.
Labor signs? None!
Belly Button in or out? It's in.
Wedding rings on or off? Still on, not spinning anymore though!
Happy or Moody most of the time? Happy when I'm not dead tired.
Looking forward to? Sleeping for longer than 4 hours at a time (I know once I have baby that's going to be a distant memory, but I would love it right now!)

So Tired

So do you remember last fall when we were thinking we were ready to start a family and decided that we were going to move first? Apparently the universe has decided that we have waited for long enough. I went into the doctors office to see why I was so tired and found out that there is a little one on the way!
WHOOT!!!
I am so excited, although still feeling like I got hit by a truck. I can't believe how sore and tired I have been! I am due on May 3rd so at this point I am 11 weeks. I am hoping that when I hit the second trimester I will feel better (which everyone tells me will happen)
The bump is starting to show, my skinny pants are more memory than reality and I splurged on some maternity jeans and dress pants to wear to work. It seems so strange to be happy about putting weight on. I have spent the last few years doing everything I can to get rid of it. So, for right now I need this shirt:
I will post some photos soon (once I can corner Jon into taking some) But yeah!!! Baby in May!!!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my Mom who has taught me many things over the years:

#1- I can't pull off the sailor look, no matter how cute I am!
Family Photo circa 1990??
#2- That life is more fun when you kick up your feet and laugh!
Maui 2002
#3- That it's surprisingly hard to get a photo of our family with all our eyes open!
Movie night 2004
#4- That we are good at posing for photos
Karen & Paul's wedding, 2005
#5- That, at one time or another, we all need a bib
Easter 2010
#6- That if you work hard enough for long enough you get to buy pretty dresses!
My graduation from University, 2010
#7- That sometimes it is acceptable to require 10 people's help to get ready in the morning...
My wedding day, 2010
#8- That you are always there for me (if you agree with my choices or not!)
An etsy find
I love you!

Milestones

This week has been hectic, so not as much blogging time as I would like. I am also finding it hard to convince myself to write to myself....If someone else is reading, please follow and comment, then it won't seem so lonely!

Milestones for this week:
- Jonathan's birthday is tomorrow, he will be 26.... We had a party for him last night at Gateway Lanes, did some bowling, played some pool, watched the Oilers lose, spent some quality time with friends. Overall, it was an awesome night!
- We decided to start trying for a baby. Yes, we're young. yes we're moving to a different province in April. Yes, we're newlyweds. But we want a family so bad, and my doctor is worried about me having complications due to past surgeries. If we start trying now we will know what we are up against. We both want a big family (Jonathan has all 5 named already....) so if baby #1 (Jaqueline) is too hard on me or at risk herself we will start the adoption process to fill in the house.
- We are debating moving before we move. I know, doesn't that one sound like fun. We are moving from Edmonton to Victoria in April, which will be awesome! But right now we are staying with Jonathan's parents. I love them a ton and they are great people, but having our own space is so tempting! I haven't lived with parent's in a long, long time, so having someone there to monitor (and comment on) how much sleep we're getting, what we are eating, how much we work etc is new and not my favorite.
- Christmas shopping is officially done! One of the perks of our marketing business is the companies we advertise for need customers for Christmas. We just went through their websites, saved a ton of money and supported our clients. Sweet deal all around! It also gives us a week or so to figure out the house thing before I have to wrap gifts!

Jonathan & I last Christmas with my sister's little one....so ready for our own!
